The 25th District Grand Masters Reception honoring our Grand Master MWB Ronald L. Winnett
April 12, 2008

Dear Brethren,

I am pleased to announce that the location of the Grand Master’s Reception has been finalized. It will be held at The Lodge & Conference Center at Geneva State Park on April 12, 2008. This is about a month earlier than usual, but was moved to accommodate our Grand Master’s schedule. The cost of our reception will be $30.00 per person, a reduction of $5.00 over last year. Although the costs of our reception will be about the same as last year, we are reducing the price in hopes that more Brethren will be able to attend. This is our opportunity to show our Grand Master that Freemasonry is alive and well in Northeast Ohio and particularly in The Terrific 25th District.

In order to be able to cover all of our costs we are going to rely on the advertisement sales to make up the difference. In reviewing the programs from other districts we found that our advertising pricing is considerably lower than most. We are therefore, raising the prices of our advertisements to: $60.00 for a full page ad, $50.00 for a half page ad, 35.00 for a quarter page ad, and $25.00 for a business card size ad. The patron ad will remain at $5.00 per signature. It is our hope that the Brethren will support this event with their participation in the advertisement sales. To accomplish this, we are offering several incentives to motivate all of us to go out and sell advertisements.

First, we are offering a free ticket to the Grand Master’s Reception for every $100.00 dollars worth of advertisements sold by that Brother. For example, sell $200.00 worth of advertising and receive 2 free tickets, sell $400.00 and receive 4 free tickets, etc. You Brethren that feel the cost is too high, here is your chance to attend for free! To get a free ticket for you and your Lady, you only have to sell the equivalent of 2 full page ads and 3 business card size ads! The blank advertisement sales sheets can be obtained below.

Second, we will recognize and award the Lodge that brings in the most dollars in advertisements, with a plaque at the 25th District Awards Night, plus 2 free tickets to next year’s Grand Master’s Reception.

Third, we are beginning a new program called “Adopt a Grand Lodge Officer”. This program has worked with great success in other districts for some time. We are asking the Lodges to pick up the cost of one Grand Lodge Officer and his lady, this year’s cost will be $175.00. This cost covers their dinner tickets plus their lodging. For this price the Lodge will have the privilege of escorting the Grand Lodge Officer and his lady during the grand entrance. The Master of the Lodge or his representative will escort the Grand Lodge Officer’s Lady and the lady of the Master or her representative will escort the Grand Lodge Officer. The Grand Lodge Officer and his Lady will then sit at that Lodges table for the Reception. That Lodge will also, if their money is paid on time, have the first opportunity to sponsor that same Officer next year. Every Grand Lodge Officer is available except the Grand Master and the Grand Chaplain. They will be seated at the head table. Brethren, here is a wonderful opportunity to build a personal relationship with a future Grand Master and make him and his lady feel personally welcome in our district for years to come.  I am pleased to inform you that we have already received confirmation that a Lodge will be sponsoring a Grand Lodge Officer.  It is expected that the available Officers will be taken quickly so don't wait too long to confirm your intentions.

Brethren, the 25th District Officers cannot make this reception a success by ourselves, it takes all the Brethren of the 25th district working together to make this a successful reception. Please support this personally by getting advertisements, then attending and as a Lodge, please consider, ”Adopt a Grand Lodge Officer” and make this years reception a huge success.

Thank you in advance for your support,

Pete Furman
