Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 23rd, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 41 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Jim Brehler officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.

BOARDMAN - Donald M. Glowe,
75, died at his home Monday, Jan. 9, 2012. He was born Nov. 7, 1936, in Greene
Township, the son of the late Metz and Naomi Crouch Glowe. A lifetime area
resident, Don graduated from Kinsman Badger High School in 1955 and received a
mechanical engineering degree from Ohio University in 1959. He was formerly
employed by Wean Engineering and was the co-founder of Glowe-Smith Industrial
and DG & Associates located in Howland. Don was a member of Carroll F. Clapp
Masonic Lodge #655, Al Koran Shrine, Ali Baba Grotto, and was a 32nd-degree
mason. He enjoyed hunting, golf, and in his younger years, bowling. He was a
member of the Flowing Well Hunt Club in Bennezette, Pa., and a former member of
the Trumbull Country Club. He will be sadly missed by a daughter, Karen J.
(John) Willcox of West Chester, Pa.; son, Douglas M. (Susan) Glowe of Howland;
and three grandchildren, Dennis Glowe, Peter Glowe and Miriam Willcox. He also
leaves a sister Dorothy G. DeLong of Annapolis, Md.; a niece, Suzanne Murphy;
and two nephews, Wesley and Gregory DeLong. There will be a private memorial
service at a later date. Don will be interred at the Kinsman Cemetery.
Roberts-Clark Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements. The family requests
material contributions be made to the Howland High School Scholarship Fund, 8200
South St. S.E., Warren, OH 44484.

WARREN - Donald "Don" R. Mackey,
80, died at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital
after a brief illness. Don was born May 23, 1931, in Clarksburg, W.Va., to Edna
M. Zinn Mackey and Homer F. Mackey Sr. He worked for United Brotherhood of
Carpenters and Joiners of America as a carpenter, piledriver and millwright for
43 years, retiring in 1993. Don graduated from Shinnston High School in
Shinnston, W.Va. He was of the Protestant faith. Don served in the U.S. Air
Force during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Local Union 1438 and 1871;
Al Koran Temple (Shriners) of Cleveland; Past Master of Niles McKinley Lodge 794
Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio in Girard; Past High Priest Niles Masons
Chapter 223; Past Illustrious Master Niles Council 130; Past Eminent Commander
and Meritorious Service award recipient of Niles Commandery 79 Knight Templar;
32nd-Degree Mason of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Valley of Youngstown; and
Life Member Knights of The York Cross of Honour State of Ohio Priory 18.
Surviving are his companion Eileen J. Maroulis at home; a son, Stephen Mackey
and his wife Leanna of Warren; grandchildren, Jessica Emery and her husband
Klinton, and Ashley Mackey; and great-grandchildren, Natalie, Addison and
Nicholas. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary C. (Johnson)
Mackey, who died in 1997; and brothers, Homer F. Mackey Jr., James C. Mackey and
Jack D. Mackey. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the John Flynn
Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. chapel. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday
with a Masonic service of Lodge 794 at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Arrangements are by the John Flynn

BRISTOLVILLE - Dean L. Sutliff,
74, of Bristolville, died at 11:28 a.m., Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren after a short illness.
He was born March 29, 1937, in Warren, the son of the late Neal and Alma Lundy Sutliff.
Dean was a 1955 graduate of Bristol High School and retired in 1986 after 31 years of service from Republic Steel as a stone mason.
Mr. Sutliff was an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Masons #507 of West Farmington; a member of the Over The Hill Beagle Club located at his home; and was an avid rabbit and deer hunter. He also enjoyed gardening of tomatoes, liked following the Cleveland Indians and the Cavaliers; and also followed the Bristolville boys basketball team.
Survivors include his children, Marcia (Stephen F. Davis) Sutliff-Briscoe of Warren, Dr. Gary D. (Medha) Sutliff of Granville and Brian T. (Dr. Carol) Sutliff of Granville; 11 grandchildren, Chaz (Vicki), Morgan (Chino), Carli, Cailyn, Cristin, Corinne, Garrett, Jaya, Nikhil, Kieran and Sejal; and one brother, Donald Sutliff of Cortland; and a whole host of lifetime, longtime friends.
Other than his parents, Dean was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brittany Briscoe, and one brother, James Sutliff.
Memorial graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Evergreen Cemetery in Bristolville, where Pastor Dale Briggs will celebrate Dean's life.
Family and friends may visit from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the cemetery.

WARREN - Richard Lee Teuscher,
81, of Warren, passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at his home.
Born Nov. 28, 1930, in Wheeling, W.Va., Richard was the son of the late Cecil Alfred and Goldie Schaub Teuscher Sr.
He received an honorable discharge from the United States Army in 1952 and served as mortarman during the Korean War, was a Purple Heart recipient and taught map reading in Indiantown Gap, Pa.
Richard retired in 1993 from local #396 Plumbers & Pipefitters. He was a 32nd-degree mason with the Carroll F. Clapp lodge, a member of the Al Koran Shriners and the Scottish Rite. Richard played the organ, loved woodworking and could fix anything. Most of all, he loved his family and was dedicated to helping them in any way he could.
Richard was preceded in death in 2001 by his wife, the former Patricia A. "Pat" LeGay, whom he married June 20, 1953, and with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. He is survived by their two children, Richard L. "Rick" (Michelle) Teuscher of Champion and Rhonda T. (Randall) Stowell of Warren; five grandchildren, Richard Cecil (Vanessa) Teuscher, Ryan Allan (Lisa) Stowell, Eric R. Stowell, Shannon Pereces and Megan Lewis; two great-granddaughters, Kylie and Mary Katherine Teuscher; and two sisters, Dorothy Marie Berry of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Verna Mae (Jack) Brown of Howland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Cecil A. Teuscher Jr.
Family and friends may visit 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Donald Cooper will conduct a funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be held in the Crown Hill Burial Park.

Sr. 1930-2011
BRISTOLVILLE - Robert A. Davison Sr., 81, of North
Bristol died at 6:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at his home.
He was born Oct. 9, 1930, in Youngstown, the son of
Harold Marell and Martha Adrianne Sweeney Davison.
Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean
War from 1948-52. He has been self-employed for 50 years, owning Bob's
Welding Service in Bristolville.
Bob was the current master and past master of West
Farmington Western Reserve Masonic Lodge No. 507, where he was a master mason
since 1971. He was also a member and past officer of the Ancient Accepted
Scottish Rite, Valley of Youngstown and a member of the Aut
Mori Grotto in Youngstown.
Bob is survived by his wife, Roberta E. Thorpe Davison,
whom he married Dec. 10, 1953; two daughters, Roberta A. (Les) Wildman of
North Bristol and Rhonda S. (Keith) Camp of Kingsville; one son, R. Koti
Davison of Boseman, Mont.; one stepson, Russell I.
Reeves Jr. of North Bristol; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;
three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Davison of Lakeland,
Fla.; three stepsiblings, Virginia Howell of Jefferson, David G. Cummins of
Collins, Ga., and Florence Martie of Champion; five
half-siblings, Pat Alba of Texas, Laurel Nye of Ontario, Calif., and Dorothy
Roof and Martha Fritsch, both of Warren, and Jim Cummins of Minnesota.
One son, Robert Davison Jr.; one brother, Bill Davison;
three stepsisters, Roberta Risher, Barbara Zollac and Lois Kemmer; and a
half sister, Marilyn Thorpe, and a half brother, Tom Cummins all have
preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday
at Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland, with
Pastor Fred Keener officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8
p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where masonic
services will be conducted by Western Reserve Lodge No. 507 F&AM at 5:45
p.m.

Rhine Sr. 1939-2011
WARREN - Charles M. ''Chuck'' Rhine Sr., 72, of Warren, died 2:15 a.m.
Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Community Skilled Health Care Centre following an
extended illness.
He was born Jan. 31, 1939, in Warren, the son of the late Lewis and
Annabelle Moser Rhine.
A 1956 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Chuck attended
KSU-Trumbull Branch and retired from Packard Electric after 30 years of
service as a foreman.
Mr. Rhine was an honorably discharged U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam
War.
Chuck was a member of the Carroll F. Clapp F&AM Lodge #655, the Ali
Baba Grotto, the Kentucky Colonels and 40 Thieves and was a Grotto clown,
''Curly.'' He enjoyed golfing, poker, pinochle, bowling and visiting
casinos.
Survivors include his wife, the former Doris Gilliland, whom he married
June 5, 1959; his children, Charles M. (Laura) Rhine Jr. of Charlotte,
N.C., Ronald (Theresa) Rhine and Tamara ''Tammy'' Rhine, all of Warren; six
grandchildren, Charles III, Bradley, Candice, Robert (Kristina), Kevin and
Kyle Rhine; two great-grandchildren, Angelica and Trenton Rhine, who say
that "grandpee has his angel wings"; and two sisters, Helen Rhine
and Sharon Lewis, both of Cortland.
Other than his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by one brother,
William Rhine.
Family and friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Carl W.
Hall Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday,
with the Rev. James Baer celebrating Chuck's life.
Interment will be at Vienna Township Cemetery.

WARREN - Clyde C. Waddell Sr., 94, of Warren, passed away Wednesday,
Oct. 19, 2011, at St. Joseph Health Center.
He was born April 8, 1917, in Coalport,
Pa., the son of George P. and Ethel M. Kachelries
Waddell.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Waddell retired in 1980 as a
roller die designer for Youngstown Republic Manufacturing Co. after 23 years
of employment.
He was a member of Tod Avenue United
Methodist Church, Old Erie Lodge 3, F&AM, Al Koran, White Shrine, and was
past president of the Lordstown Senior Citizens
Group. He enjoyed golf, bowling and fishing.
Surviving are a son, Clyde C. (Beryl) Waddell Jr. of Lubbock,
Texas; three granddaughters, Kimberly Waddell of Northampton, Mass., Bethany
(Mike) Beeghly of Frisco, Texas, and Jennifer (Lee
Bob) Harper of Gruver, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Leo, Max and Natalie
Harper; and a daughter-in-law, Carol Love-Waddell of Lakeland, Fla.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Nellie M. Waddell, whom
he married Dec. 14, 1937, and who died Dec. 20, 2005; a son, Paul G. Waddell;
a sister, Vida Waddell Black; and a brother, Jesse Waddell.
Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at McFarland & Son
Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Vincent officiating. Private interment will
take place at Crown Hill Burial Park.

Joseph L. Wyndham
1921-2011
WARREN - Joseph L. Wyndham, 89, of Warren, died Thursday, Oct.
20, 2011, after a short illness.
He was born Dec. 8, 1921, in Warren, the son of Thomas and Lyda Barr Wyndham, and had lived in the Warren area all
his life.
Joe Wyndham built his life around public service, and around
his family.
A veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, Mr. Wyndham served the city
of Warren as park superintendent, safety-service director, and as a
member-at-large of city council. A Republican precinct committeeman, he was a
member of BPOE Lodge 295 and a 65-year member of Old Erie Lodge 3, F&AM.
He took an active role in city politics, managing the
successful Republican mayoral candidacy of Art Richards and his own campaigns
as well.
As park superintendent, he oversaw the first lighted baseball
fields in Warren's parks, and took a personal hand in improving landscaping
and features in Warren's public spaces.
He was an active member throughout his life of Second
Christian Church, where he served as elder, deacon
and board chairman.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey L. (Susan) of Madison and
Richard L. (Becky) Wyndham of Warren; four grandchildren, Edward and Cassie
Parker, and Richard J. and Peter W. (Ariana)
Wyndham; and two great-grandchildren, Vincent Joseph and Leah Marie Wyndham.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Dora Fritz Wyndham, whom
he married May 1, 1943, and who died Jan. 28, 2010; and three sisters, Edith
Hatch, Theda Morris and Edna Reep.
Joe and Dora Wyndham were high school sweethearts, and their
loving partnership of more than 60 years has served as a guide to their
children and to many others. Joe will be remembered for his kindness, his
generosity and his wisdom. We know he is together with his beloved wife in
our hearts and in the heaven in which they trusted.
Services are 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at McFarland & Son
Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steven Brown of Central Christian Church
officiating. Private interment will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the

Joseph F. Aubel
72 years old of Warren, Ohio
was born May 31, 1939. He died on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at University
Hospital of Cleveland. Joe lived in Warren, Ohio his entire life. He
graduated in 1958 from Leavittsburg High School. Joe was the owner of Sunoco
of North Park, ADM and Aubel'sTr Auto Repair.
He is
the son of Vera Lillian Gibbs Aubel and the late Joseph F. Aubel Sr. He
married Shirley E. Wyant on April 15, 1961.
He was a
veteran of the U S Army. He was a member of the Champion Presbyterian Church,
Promise Keepers, Tyler of the Masons Lodge #776, Board Member of for the
Lunar Module Project of Warren, Past Bus driver for the Mohawks, member of
the Champion football and band boosters, and president of the Secrest PTA. He
enjoyed building model airplanes, reading, fishing and World War II history.
Joe is
survived by his wife, Shirley E. Aubel, of Champion, one son, Jerome W.
"Jerry"(Kim Stocz) Aubel of Olmstead Falls, Ohio, two daughters,
Robin L, (Tom) Schoonover of Champion, and Heather L. (Brian) Johnson of
Columbus, Ohio, four grandchildren, Alexa and Joshua Aubel and Christina and
Jeremy Schoonover. He is also survived by his mother, Vera L. Aubel of
Leavittsburg, a brother, Dennis E. Aubel of Largo, Florida, four sisters
Judith Dyer of Vienna,, Monette Traichal of Niles, Candy Brom of Irving,
Texas, and Jolene Aubel of Park City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his
father, Joseph F. Aubel Sr. and a sister Darlene "Peachie" Martin.
Services
will be held at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at
3:00 PM with Pastor Marvin Barney officiating. Family and friends may visit
from 1-3 PM on Saturday.

Eric Callow
37, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at
St. Joseph Health Center.
He was born on July 22, 1974, in
Warren, the son of Earl Callow Sr. and Renate Bewersdorf Callow.
Eric was a 1992 graduate of
Maplewood High School and had worked as a pipefitter for the past 15 years.
He was a member of the
Pipefitters Local 396 in Youngstown as well as the William Farr Masonic Lodge, F&AM 672 in Girard.
Eric was an avid outdoorsman. He
enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling and watching NASCAR. He was also an
avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Anneliese
Callow of Covington, Va.; his father, Earl Callow Sr. of Mecca; his mother,
Renate Callow of Mecca; two sisters, Leona (Andrew) Pliszka of Bristolville
and Sonya (Stephen) Evans of Mecca; and a brother, Earl (Christine) Callow
Jr. of Mecca.
Also surviving is a niece,
Sabrina Evans, and three nephews, Stephen Evans, Kristoffer Callow and
Alexander Callow.
The family will receive friends
from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland.

- Ethel L. Dolezal,
91, passed away Sunday, Oct. 2,
2011, following a long, fulfilled life.
She was born May 16, 1920, in Gustavus, the daughter of the late Earl and Lottie
Blood Johnston.
Ethel was a homemaker and owner/operator of Do Re Mi Beauty Salon in Parkman.
She wrote poetry and loved gardening and dancing with her beloved Buck.
She was a prolific painter with oils and acrylics and enjoyed genealogy and
collectibles. History and politics were also among her passionate interests.
She loved her family and husband, Buck, whom she married in 1945.
Ethel is survived by her children, Jacque Wolf, Faith (Jay) Cutler, Julie
Dolezal and Mark (Patricia) Dolezal, all of Middlefield; six grandchildren,
Michael Dolezal, Mathew Dolezal, Clinton Fisher, Nicholas Wolf, and Jessica
Koeth and Jason Koeth; great-granddaughters, Peyton Ryan and Gracie Martz;
great-grandsons, Gavin Wolf, Easton Wolf, Canyon Koeth and Dakota Koeth; and
a sister, Joan (George) Stockton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buck; a brother, Robert;
three sisters, Winifred, Dorothy and Mary Ann; and a grandson, Dunovan Koeth.

Daniel F. Doing,
Age 73 of Warren, died Sunday, September 18, 2011, at St. Joseph Health
Center surrounded by his family. He will be deeply missed by all of his
family, friends and neighbors.
Dan was born January 11, 1938 in Warren, the son of the late Raymond and Ivah
Irene Cox Doing. He was a 1956 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.
After graduation, Dan moved to Arizona with his best friend and then returned
home to be with family.
Dan met and married Virgie Tackett Doing in 1959 and had two children, Dennis
and Lisa.
Dan retired from St. Joseph Hospital as the Director of Environmental
Services in 1995. He began his hospital career in 1959. He studied throughout
his career, attended Case Western Reserve University and earned many
certifications in his field. He truly enjoyed his years at St. Joe's, made
many lasting friendships during his career and took pride in working with his
son, Dennis for many of those years. It was also through St. Joe's that Dan
met and married his wife, Colleen Carter Repasy Doing in 1982, who preceded
him in death in 2005.
After retiring from the hospital, Dan worked as a substitute classroom helper
and media aide for Warren City elementary schools. Dan loved teaching. He
taught numerous off campus seminars to EMT's on biohazard techniques in
addition to the classes he taught to St. Joe's hospital staff and the
physicians and their staffs. He served as a volunteer tutor at McKinley
Elementary school and volunteered with the Ohio Reads program. Dan passed his
native American heritage on to many by conducting programs on Native American
customs and culture at local schools and Boy and Girl Scout troop meetings
and handcrafting many beautiful items for his family and friends. His love of
his heritage will be remembered and passed on by his children and
grandchildren.
Dan was an avid sports fan and loved the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed the
family fishing trips to Canada, car shows, the History Channel and all kinds
of music--from classical, 50's and 60's and big band. He enjoyed bowling on
the St. Joe's bowling team, golfing and most of all loved spending time with
his family, neighbors and friends.
Dan was a master mason with the Silver Trowel Lodge No. 776 in Warren and
held the 32nd degree with the Scottish Rite Valley of Youngstown. He was a member
of the Trumbull Moose Lodge No. 186, where he was a volunteer cook alongside
his children.
Dan is survived by one son, Dennis E. (Sharon) Doing and one daughter, Lisa

NILES - Donald R. Gillespie,
75, entered into rest at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at St. Joseph
Health Center in Warren following a lengthy battle with chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease.
Donald was born Nov. 25, 1935, in Vegan, W.Va., the son of
the late John W. and Bessie Anderson Gillespie, and resided in Niles for the
past 46 years, moving here from Buckhannon, W.Va.
In 1997, he retired from General Motors Corp., where he
worked as a skilled tradesman for 28 years. Donald was a member of Central
Baptist Church, the F&AM 394 Masonic Lodge of Niles, and served his
country faithfully in the United States Army.
On Sept. 22, 1956, Donald was united into marriage with
the former Lillian L. Poling; they shared 55 years together. His memory will
be remembered and celebrated by those he leaves behind, including his wife,
Lillian L. "Luci" Gillespie; two sons, Charles "Chuc"
(Mary) Gillespie of Evansville, Wis., and Hudson "Hud" (Lori)
Gillespie of McDonald; two brothers, Delbert Gillespie of Buckhannon and
Robert Gillespie of Warren; two sisters, Donis Sardich of Warren and Pauline
Bunner of Buckhannon; and five grandchildren, Rebekah, Ethan, Jessica,
Zachary and Abriella "Bri" Gillespie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and
one sister.
Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at
Central Baptist Church in Niles.

Harvey J. Lindy,
age 81,
of Millcreek, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011, at his residence. He was
born in Reynoldsville, Pa., on August 23, 1930, a son of the late Harvey and
Martha Brocious Lindy. Harvey attended Millcreek High School and went on to
serve in the United States Navy where he served as a gunner and cook during
the Korean War. After the Navy, Harvey began his own construction company,
B&L Construction. He was a member of the Dorchester Drive Baptist Church
and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. Harvey was very active
in the Tyrian Commonwealth Lodge No. 362 of F.&A.M., Evergreen Lodge No.
222 F.&A.M Blue Lodge of Ohio, Temple Royal Arch Chapter No. 215, where
he was Past High Priest, Jerusalem Council No. 33 Royal and Select Master
Masons, where he served as Past Trice Illustrious Master, Mount Olive
Commandery No. 30 Knights Templar, where he was Past Commander, St. Johns Red
Cross of Constantine, Gateway to the West Council No. 5 Knight Mason, Richard
Monroe Bard York Rite College, Council of Anointed Kings, Peninsula Council
No. 87 Allied Masonic Degrees, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Eriez Forest No. 175,
where he was Past Grand Tall Cedar, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of
Erie, EREPA Grotto and Order of the Elks. Even though Harvey was very proud
of all of his accomplishments, his biggest pride and joy was ALL of his
family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother,
Joseph Lindy and a sister, Jane Rautine. He is survived by his wife,
Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Phillips Lindy; his children, Bonnie and John Fisher,
Randy and Sonia Lindy and Cheryl and Clive Adams; two sisters, Sally Buck and
Elsie Buck and her husband, Raymond; a brother, Donald Lindy; grandchildren,
Christopher and Stephanie Gilson, Keith and Keri Gilson, Jamie and Brian
East, Jennifer and Eric Corvera, Joshua and Lindsey Fisher Justine and Ryan
Roy, Rachelle Modeski, Stephanie and Eric Lasher and Jason Lindy, and

FALLS - Edward L. Gross Jr., 76, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday,
July 31, 2011, at his home.
He
was born March 20, 1935, in Shalersville, the son of the late Edward Louis
and Clara Dines Gross Sr.
Ed
was a 1953 graduate of Johnston High School and attended Youngstown College,
majoring in business.
He
served in the Air Force during the Korean War, having served in England and
Africa.
Ed
enjoyed flying, was a private pilot and had his instrument rating and
certification in multi-engine aircraft. He was also a Gold Seal flight
instructor for 30 years.
He
retired in 1991 after 38 years of service at Delphi Packard Electric, where
he had worked as an extruder operator.
Ed
was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a 52-year member of Gustavus
Masonic Lodge 442 F & AM, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of
Youngstown, Tadmor Shrine Temple AAONMS in Akron, Ali Baba Grotto, Aiea
Shrine Temple in Honolulu and an honorary member of Aloha Temple, member of
Clan 16 Northern Ohio Grand & Glorious Order of Hillbilly degree and a
member of the American Legion.
He
was a past Patron of Order of the Eastern Star Morning Light Chapter 80 and
past Watchman of Shepherds of the Trinity White Shrine of Jerusalem No. 42.

survived by his wife of 50 years, Jasmine "Jackie" Duey Gross;
three daughters, Nikki (Kenneth) Ridenour of Mogadore, M. Sue (Steve) Derr of
Southington and Stephanie DeLeo of Peoria, Ariz.; one son, R. Kelly (Brenda)

Geneva and Roy L. Miller of Rocky Mount, Va.; a daughter, Christy Miller of

NEWTON FALLS - Harry E. Newman, Sr., 78, of Newton Falls, died Sunday, May
15, 2011, at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.
He was born Sept. 16, 1932, in Warren, the son of Clair and Jennie Snyder
Newman, and had lived in Trumbull and Portage counties all his life.
A graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Mr. Newman was a veteran of
the U.S. Army, and worked for Dairy Mart as the director of human resources.
A lifelong and active member of Second Christian Church in Warren, he also
belonged to Old Erie Lodge #3, F. & A.M., and Scottish Rite, Valley of
Youngstown, 32nd Degree. He enjoyed golf and bowling, and had given much time
to serving meals to the poor and working in the church's food pantry.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Hovis Newman,
whom he married July 10, 1953; three children: Harry E. (Donna) Newman, Jr.
of Champion, Robin E. (Bill Apar) Myers of Avon Lake, and Wendy E. (Ron)
Croell of Newton Falls; and six grandchildren. Preceding him in death are a
sister, Dorothy Painter; and two brothers, Ron Harper and Charles Newman.
A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at McFarland & Son
Funeral Home. Friends may call 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Rose Marie Dixon, 80, passed away Wednesday evening, April 20, at Hamot
Medical Center in Erie, PA, surrounded by the family who loved her dearly.
Her death followed a sudden, brief illness. She was born September 12, 1930
in Conneaut, and was the daughter of Claude C. and Marian Clark Lewis.
Rose Marie graduated in 1948 from Rowe High School. The following year, on
July 2, 1949, she married her high school sweetheart, George H. Dixon, a
union spanning over sixty-one years. Upon graduation, Rose was employed at
Marshall Dry Cleaners, Molded Fiberglass, Lawson Milk Company, and retired
from Conneaut Leather Company.
She was a long time member of the former East Conneaut United Methodist
Church (now New Leaf United Methodist).
Once Rose retired, she had more time to devote to her family and was known
for her love of flowers and her baked beans. Her grandchildren were
especially dear to Grandma Rosie. She was always there to support them at
their ballgames, concerts, academic recognitions, holidays, and family
celebrations. She and George are also known for their affection to their
devoted cocker spaniel, Scoobie.
Survivors include her husband George, and her children and their spouses,
George and Carolyn Dixon, Jr., Bonnie and Frank Bernato, all of Ashtabula,
and David and Terri Dixon, and Janet and Dana Quinn, all of Conneaut. She is
also survived by eight grandchildren, Tony (Amy) Bernato, Mike (Kim Sarvis)
Bernato, Tom Bernato, Jennifer Dixon, Jessica (Christopher) Clark, Johanna
(Jason) Coppock, Elliot (Jillian) Dixon, and Joel (Laura) Dixon; and was the
proud great-grandmother of six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1971; her mother in 1985; and her
sister, Dorothy (Mrs. Hugh) Dixon.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, April 25, 2011at the Marcy Funeral
Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Pastor Jan Walsh
of New Leaf United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in
Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, OH.

Hal C. Baker, Jr.,
age 88 of Conneaut, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at his residence.
Hal
was born on March 27, 1923 in Ashtabula, Ohio the son of Hal and Henrietta
(Lawrence) Baker.
He
was a 1941 Rowe graduate and the entered the United States Air Force in 1942.
He served his country proudly as a Radar Mechanic until he was honorably
discharged in 1945. Hal then became employed with the United States Postal
Service, as a letter carrier, for over 30 years until his retirement in 1980.
Hal
was a member of St. Mary / St. Frances Cabrini Parish. He was also a member
of the Eagles Club, the American Legion, and the Conneaut Moose Lodge. He
enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing. He loved spending time with his family,
especially on Sunday’s with his boys watching the Cleveland Browns. For
many years Hal was the family caregiver. He later cared for the
love of his life, Jean, throughout her illness.

was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean in 2004; his daughter,
Mary Michelle Baker; a brother, David Baker;
and a sister Carol McKnight
He
is survived by three sons, Rick and Lori Baker of Erie, PA, Tom and Nancy

A. Metzler, 93 of East Jefferson St. Jefferson, died Friday (April 8th) at the
Jefferson Health Care in Jefferson, Ohio. He was born January 29, 1918 in
Dorset Twp. Ohio the son of John A. and Katherine (Leiby) Metzler and has
been a lifetime area resident.
He was a veteran of the Army serving during
World War II. He drove truck for over 40 years with various companies in the
Ashtabula County area.
He is a member of the Jefferson United
Methodist Church; the Tuscan Lodge #342 F & AM, Jefferson Chapter #141
Royal Arch Masons, Conneaut Council #40, Cache Commandry #27. Rose Chapter #22
Order of Eastern Star and an over 50 year member of the Denmark Grange. He
had served 11 times as head of various Masonic bodies and was the first
person in Ohio to serve as head of the Masonic bodies twice which was the
Knight York Cross of Honor.
He enjoyed gardening, wood working in which he
built his own home and he was also a bee keeper.
Surviving him are his wife, Lola (Hayslett)
Metzler whom he married July 17, 1959; a son Lee A. Metzler of Columbus, Ohio
and a sister, Marian Kemp of Jefferson. He was preceded in death by his
parents.
A funeral service will be Tuesday (April 12th)
at 1:00 PM at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors,
49 West Jefferson St. Jefferson with Rev. Meredith Coleman of the Jefferson
United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery with

2011, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 19, 1941, in Cleveland.
He was a member of Lakeshore Masonic Lodge 307 of Madison, and an active
member of the Ramrod Busters since 1991.
Mr. Jacobs retired from Ohio Manufacturing in Middlefield after 42 years of
service.
Jack is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Laura) Jacobs of Fairport Harbor;
brother, Dennis G. (Roberta) Jacobs of Jefferson; nephews, David (Evelyn) and
Denny (Jeannie) Jacobs; niece, Denice (Ken) Weisbarth; great-nephews, Chad
and Ryan Weisbarth and Mason Jacobs; and great-niece, Meaghan Jacobs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice (McLaughin) Jacobs.

Rudolph Persin Old

Rudolph Persin, 95, passed
away Sunday evening, March 20, 2011, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
He was born April 13, 1915,
in Sharon, Pa., the fourth child of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Zug Persin.
Rudy was a June 1933
graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. After graduation, he worked part
time at Jerry's Market, near trolley stop 37 1/2 in Warren. When times were
good, he worked at temporary jobs at American Welding and at Republic Steel,
where his father and brother Joe worked.
Rudy served in the Civilian
Conservation Corps (CCC) for six months in 1936 at the Yellow River Dam in
Montana. He then was called back to work at Packard Electric until 1942.
Rudy then enlisted and
served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 as an aviation metalsmith first
class.
After his honorable naval
service, he became part-owner of the Horseshoe Bar in Warren with his
brother, Joe, and brother-in-law, Ed Konnen. He also worked at Packard
Electric during that time. He worked as a short order cook for his brother,
Jack, at his neighborhood bar in Struthers and as a bartender for his
brother, Joe, at the Carioca (later Lefty & Jim's) in Warren.
Rudy and his wife, Jean,
then moved to and lived in Phoenix for three years, where he worked as a mail
carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He retired Aug. 31, 1980, as a
metallurgist from Republic Steel (LTV) Corp. after 25 years of service.
Through the decades and
well into his 90s, Rudy remained quite active. He was a skilled musician,
singer and a scratch golfer.
He was an active member of
Calvary Presbyterian Church, where he had sung in the choir, served as elder
and was a member of the church softball, bowling and golf teams.
He was a member of Old Erie
Lodge 3 F&AM and enjoyed singing in the Masonic chorus and was a 32nd
degree Mason with the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Youngstown,
where he also sang in the choir.
Rudy enjoyed playing banjo
and bass fiddle in his brother Jack's band. He loved to dance to the sounds
of the big bands and polkas and was touted by all of his female family
members to be a "smooth dancer." He enjoyed listening to Christian
music and watching all spectator sports. He was an avid golfer and continued
throughout his life to entertain by playing harmonica, base fiddle and banjo.
Rudy is survived by his
wife of 70 years, Genevieve Marie "Jean" Konchinsky Persin, whom he
married Oct. 5, 1940. Together they had three children. Rudy and Jean tried
their best to instill character, values and integrity in their children. They
led by example. He is remembered by friends, even into his last years, as an
intelligent, gentle, kind and family-oriented man with a warm smile.
Also surviving are one son,
Bruce E. (Marie) Persin of Bazetta; one daughter, Sally Jo Persin of
Pittsburgh; five grandchildren, Jessica (Wm. Art) Kenney of Spotsylvania,
Va., Brittany Pemberton of Alexandria, Va., Stephanie (Jason) Uber of
Boardman, Katelyn (Craig) Howell of Newton Falls and Nathaniel Persin of
Bazetta; and three great-grandsons, Liam and Charlie Kenney and Seth Howell.
Rudy was preceded in death
by a son, James; one sister, Frances; and three brothers, Jack, Frank and
Joseph Persin.
The family will receive
friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in
Warren. Old Erie Lodge 3 will conduct Masonic services at 10 a.m. Saturday
followed immediately by the funeral service. The Rev. David Robert Black will
officiate.
Burial will be in Crown
Hill Burial Park in Vienna, where military honors will be accorded.

resident, Mr. Carkhuff was employed as an aircraft mechanic for Youngstown
Airways for 11 years and for Midtown Aviation for over 20 years.
He was a member of
Kinsman Presbyterian Church; the Loyal Order of Moose, Greenville, Pa.; the
Kinsman Masonic Lodge 442 and Eastern Star 518, Hartford. His hobby was
gardening.
Mr. Carkhuff is
survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. Fletcher Carkhuff, of Kinsman, whom he
married May 21, 1948; his son, Gerald L. (Diane) Carkhuff of Midwest City,
Okla.; his daughter, Thelma W. (Bill) Pilger of Miramar, Fla.; his son, Paul
W. Carkhuff of Champion; his son, Jeffrey H. (Terri) Carkhuff of Kinsman; his
brother, Eldon S. Carkhuff of Warren; nine grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by his parents; his sister, Rae Louise Warner; and his brother, Robert
J. Carkhuff.
A funeral service will
be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St.,
Kinsman, where a luncheon will immediately follow the service. A graveside
committal service will then follow in Windsor Cemetery.

6 to 8 p.m. Friday, with masonic services at 8 p.m. at Baumgardner Funeral
Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman.

This afternoon,
Mrs. Ethyle L. Osborn, the widow of Dr. Harry B. Osborn, Jr., a senior
DeMolay and Master Mason, and the mother of Carol O. Krekus and Nancy
Burcham passed away at the age of 99 years. She had been in good health
until recently.
Carol received word Wednesday afternoon that
her mother's health was failing, so we flew to Cleveland early Thursday
morning.
Her body will be cremated and a Memorial
Service is being planned for the middle of April. More information will
follow as it becomes available.

WARREN - Daniel ''Danny'' M. Balciar, 92, beloved
father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, relative and friend, passed
away peacefully Wednesday, March 3, 2011, at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial
Hospital in Warren. He leaves behind his loving family and many friends.
Danny was born Oct. 5, 1918, in Sandstone, Minn.,
but lived most of his life in Howland. He was the son of Mike and Emily
Bobroski Balciar of Bolindale.
He was a 1936 graduate of Howland High School,
followed by one year of business school.
Danny was a World War II veteran, serving in the
U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945.
He owned and operated Danny's Motor Sales and
retired from Republic Steel LTV in 1981. He also served as vice president for
Yankee Electric.
After marrying the former Vera Riggs in 1950, the
couple moved into their home on North Road in Howland, where they raised
their three children, Melvin, Marilyn and Luanne. Vera passed away in 2003.
In 2005, Danny was welcomed into the home of his
daughter, Luanne, and her husband, Mike Bollas, of Warren, where he remained
for the rest of his life.
Danny was a 65-year member of the Mahoning
Masonic Lodge 394 and also enjoyed many hobbies. He grew his own vegetables
and after serving on the island of Aruba in the Caribbean Sea during World
War II, he was passionate about boating and fishing, often plying the waters
of Lake Erie. He was also loved by many furry and feathered friends whom he
considered part of his family.
In addition to his children - Melvin (Cheryl)
Balciar of Mineral Ridge, Marilyn (Shamim) Balciar Anwar of Eu Claire, Wis.,
and Luanne (Mike) Bollas of Warren - Danny leaves behind his sisters, Olga
Rush of California and Ethel Sweitzer of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kevin
(Lisa) Balciar of Mineral Ridge, Carrie (John) Dascoli of Austintown, Dwayne
(Sara) Klimenko of Indianapolis, Amanda (Tim) Brookbank of Girard, Julie
Vaughan (Marc) Paulenich of Toledo, and Michael Bollas and David Bollas, both
of Howland; and many great-grandchildren.
He is also sadly missed by his
"honorary" daughter, Debra Hedding of Tampa, Fla., and his loving
caregiver, Sunserae Battee of Warren.
Loved ones who passed on before Danny include his
parents; his wife of 43 years, Vera; and his sisters, Sue Athey, Nellie
Zaucha, Emily Getz, Margaret Smith, Molly Frankie and Bessie Gallagher.
Funeral services for Danny will be held at 5 p.m.
Saturday at Roberts-Clark Memorial Home, 180 Garfield Drive N.E., Warren,
with calling hours from 3 to 5 p.m. The Rev. Bill Johnson will officiate.
Danny will be laid to rest next to his wife,
Vera, on Monday in Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.

HUBBARD - Samuel A. Beil Jr., 68, died Tuesday morning, March 1, 2011, at
Greenbriar Health Care.
He was born Sept. 8, 1942, in Suffolk, Va., the son of Samuel A. Sr. and
Madalen E. Rutter Beil.
Mr. Beil was a graduate of the first consolidated class of Maplewood High
School. He was a courier and also worked in maintenance at Huntington Bank
for six years, retiring in 2004. He was previously the maintenance supervisor
for the Trumbull County JVS for 16 years. Samuel served for four and a half
years with the U.S. Navy as an electrician's mate.
He was a member of Gustavus Lodge 0442 and also a 32nd Degree Mason. Sam
enjoyed woodworking, leather crafting, fishing, gardening and especially
loved cooking.
He leaves his wife, the former Cheryl A. Grolemund, whom he married June
28, 1969; a son, Samuel A. (Gina) Beil III of Hubbard; a daughter, Shannon A.
(Jeffrey) Duggin of Smyrna, Tenn.; two brothers, James R. (Debbie) and David
G. (Gayle) Beil, both of Farmdale; four grandchildren, Landan Cunningham,
Ireland Duggin and Taylor and Colton Beil; seven nieces; and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kelley-Robb
Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Church.

George Dixon fell on the ice in his driveway the evening of Feb 4th
and as a result broke his hip. He was taken to an Erie hospital and had
surgery. He was released that Sunday and is home recuperating with the

CHAMPION - Eugene V. Huntley, 90, died at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23,
2011, surrounded by his family at Trumbull Memorial Hospital of pulmonary
fibrosis.
He was born March 27, 1920, in Greene, the son of the late Francis E. and
Merrill Horton Huntley. He had lived in Champion for more than 50 years.
Mr. Huntley graduated from Greene High School and from The Ohio State
University with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He
was a member of Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma.
He worked as a staff engineer in the reliability department at Packard
Electric of General Motors for 35 years before retiring in 1985. He was also owner
of the Huntley Insurance Agency, retiring in 1991 after 40 years.
A veteran, Mr. Huntley served in Europe in World War II with the 101st
Airborne Division where he was awarded the Bronze Star.
Eugene was a member of Champion Presbyterian Church and was a ruling
elder. He was past president of the Warren / Youngstown Chapter American
Society for Quality Control; past president of the Champion Rotary Club; a
member of Carroll F. Clapp Lodge 655 F&AM; Scottish Rite Lodge of
Youngstown; Al Koran Temple of Cleveland; the Flying Aeros RC Club and the
Skyhawks RC Clubs of Warren.
He was an avid golfer, sailor, skier and a builder and flyer of
radio-controlled planes.
Survivors include his wife, the former Virginia E. Rowlee, whom he married
on June 13, 1948; two daughters, Susan E. Huntley of Hudson and Barbara H.
(Harvey) Rentschler of Bryn Mawr, Pa.; and one granddaughter, Katharine
Huntley-Bachers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Champion Presbyterian
Church, where the Rev. Marvin Barney will celebrate his life.
Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in Brownwood Cemetery, North Bloomfield.

at 1:48 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, in Florida.
He was born May 13, 1928, in North Bloomfield, the son of the late Chester
G. and Beulah Simons Smith Sr.
Mr. Smith was an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran of World War II,
serving in the combat engineers in the Pacific Theatre.
He was a member of Cross City United Methodist Church as well as the
Western Reserve Masonic Lodge 509 F&AM in West Farmington. He also was a
member of the Valley of Youngstown, Ohio Scottish Rite; the VFW Post 7200 in
West Farmington; the American Legion; and was an honorary member of the Toppa
Lodge 4 F&AM in Fletcher, Fla., and Moose Lodge in Mecca.
Survivors include his children, Jeffrey (Marsha) Smith of Valparaiso, Ind.,
Gregory (Michele) Smith of New Port Richey, Fla., and Cindra Smith Dolan of
Cortland; seven grandchildren, Nickolas, Amber, Kathryn, Benjamin, Zachary,
Samantha and Steven; and four great-grandchildren, John, Owen, Bayne and
Bryce. Also surviving are his siblings, Merle (Gloria) Smith and Ray Lee
(Nona) Smith, all of North Bloomfield; one brother-in-law, Bob Richardson of
Old Town, Fla.; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, the former Barbara Cottle, on
Feb. 11, 2004. They were united in marriage June 30, 1949. Two brothers and
six sisters also preceded him in death.

Monday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Vernon I. Palo will
celebrate his life.

Gary Allen Shearer, 77, of Sanborn Road died Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at his
home with his family by his side, after a courageous three year battle with
cancer.
The son of Klun E. and Thelma M. (Butts) Shearer, he was born on September
23, 1933 in Conneaut. A 1951 graduate of Ashtabula High School, he spent the
majority of his life in the Ashtabula area.
On March 18, 1953, Gary married the love of his life, Delores (Beckman)
Shearer and together they celebrated fifty-seven years of marriage.
He joined the United States Army in 1954 and was trained as a helicopter
mechanic assigned as the mechanic for the General of Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Gary was honorably discharged in 1956.
He was a journeyman plumber with Plumbers Union Local #55 out of Cleveland, Ohio
for fifty years until his retirement in 1998. A member of the Finnish
American Heritage Association of Ashtabula County, he was also a fifty-year
member of Rising Sun Lodge #22 F&AM, a 32nd Degree Mason, and member of
El Kadir Grotto. Gary was an accomplished woodworker. If he saw it, he could
make it. He was a collector of classic cars and loved to tinker with them as
often as time would allow. A wonderful husband, dad, and grandfather, he will
be missed by those whom he loved.
Gary is survived by his wife, Delores; his children, Norm (Kris) Shearer of
Conneaut and Kathy (Jim) Pildner and Sandy (Richard) Olsen, both of
Ashtabula; grandchildren, Dan, Sam and Tyler Shearer, Becky (Ryan) Cole, and
Lisa and Rob Olsen; step-grandchildren, Travis and Jesse Szuba.

George A. Peterson, Sr., 83, of Conneaut, OH,
died Monday evening, January 31, 2011, at his home following a six-month
illness. He was born September 14, 1927, in Conneaut, and was the son of Emil
A. and Wilhelmina (Luoma) Peterson.
George enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served on the USS Salamaua and
the USS Essex during World War II and the Korean War. While in the Navy, he
was a member of the Great Lakes Navy Choir.
A lifelong Conneaut resident, he was once employed as a commercial fisherman,
and worked at the Nickel Plate Railroad, the New York Central Railroad, The
Pittsburgh & Conneaut Dock Company, the Conneaut Bottling Works, and
retired from Reliance Electric after nearly 30 years of service.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where he served as an usher
and sang in the choir. When his children were young, he served as a Cub Scout
Leader with Pack #31. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and camping,
taking his dog for rides and walks, and joking with his friends. He was also a
member of the American Legion.
George was very active in Masonic organizations. As a young man he belonged
to Demolay. He was a member and Past Master of Evergreen Lodge #222,
Conneaut, OH in 1985; Past Commander, Cache Commandery #27, Conneaut, OH in
1997; Past High Priest, Conneaut Chapter #76, Conneaut, OH; Past Illustrious
Master, Conneaut Council #40, RAM, Conneaut, OH in 1986; Knight York Cross of
Honor in 1998; Legion of Honor Order of Demolay; Past Patron, Rose Chapter
#22, OES, Conneaut, OH in 1986; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of
Cleveland; Cornerstone Club, District 1 OES; life sponsor of Knights Templar
Eye Foundation; and Deputy Division Commander of the Ninth District, Knights
Templar.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn M. (Hurst) Peterson whom he married June

Smith. His mother died in 1945 and he was raised by his stepmother, the late
Beatrice Gray.
Mr.
Smith served as a Tec 4 in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He
was a self-employed farmer and also worked for 25 years as a fitter/welder
for GATX in Masury.
He
was a member of Stateline United
Methodist Church in Jamestown, Pa.
He
enjoyed time spent with family and friends, and fishing and hunting. He was
always helping his neighbors and community. He was a member of Jamestown
Lions Club and a 32nd
degree Mason. His CB handle was "Mr. Fix It."
Mr.
Smith is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie Custard Smith, whom he
married April 6, 1951. He is also survived by a son, Dan and his wife Cheryl
Smith of Jamestown, Pa.; a daughter, Cindy and her husband Joe Miller of
Hartstown, Pa.; a granddaughter, Danielle and her husband Mike Smith

Lester G. Richmond Temple Lodge #28
Lester G. Richmond, age 85, of Painesville, passed away Jan. 16, 2011, at
Hospice House in Cleveland.
He was born Oct. 14, 1925, in Sheffield Township, to the late Otis and Eula
(Spencer) Richmond.
Les was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of Painesville Elks 549, Temple Lodge
28 Free and Accepted Masons of Painesville and Caliph Grotto.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he was an Electrician 1st mate serving on the USS
Sandancinto during World War II.
Mr. Richmond was an electrician working through Local 673 I.B.E.W and had
also been the business agent for the Union at one time.
Survivors are his wife, Marian L. (Bolte); son, Ronald (Brenda) of Woodstock,
Ga.; daughter, Marcia Hansen of Painesville; grandchildren, Gregory (Erin)
Richmond, Megan (Arron) Smith and Justin Hansen; three great-grandchildren;
his sister, Mabel Nicka; and brother, Garland Richmond.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gary, on Dec. 27, 1969, three brothers;
and four sisters.
Services will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave.,
Painesville (opposite Lake Erie College), conducted by the Past Exalted
Rulers of Painesville Elks Lodge #549.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday prior to the
services. Private burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.

Andrew Kieltsch Niles McKinley Lodge #794
WARREN - Andrew ''Andy'' Kieltsch, 64, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at St.
Joseph Health Center Eastland.
He was born Oct. 14, 1946, in Berlin, Germany, the son of Martin and
Gertrude Hermenau Kieltsch.
Andy was a 1964 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, employed as a bus
driver for Niles City School District, custodian for Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Church and School in Niles, and a cook on a tugboat on the Mississippi River.
He was first mate on a fishing charter boat out of Erie, owned Andy's Attic
on West Park Avenue in Niles, and also sold computers, boats and other odds
and ends.
He was a member of the Niles McKinley Lodge 794 F. & A.M. of Ohio, Ali
Babba Grotto, Cortland Conservation Club and the Jolly Boys Monday Night
Gang. He was a member of the William McKinley American Legion Post 106, a
board member for the Mahoning Valley Sports Hall of Fame, and a sergeant in
the United States Air Force with the 31st Field Maintenance Squadron, having
served in Vietnam and Germany.
Andy enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, hanging out with his friends and
spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed good food, always had a
good joke to tell, and played Santa Claus throughout the area during
Christmas.
Andy, who was a friend to everybody and did anything for anybody, will be
deeply missed by a son, David and his wife, Dianna of Fort Worth, Texas; a
daughter, Kristina Packard and her husband, Keith of Lyndhurst, Ohio; a
brother, Richard and his wife, Francis of North Augusta, S.C.; two sisters,
Helga Stone of Whitehall, Mo., and Trudy Moody and her husband, Terry of
Columbia, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Thomas and Matthew Packard, Kenney
Cross, Btittany Cross Williby, David, Ariel and Skylar Kieltsch; and a
great-granddaughter, Sykarra Williby.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a stepfather, Joseph Ewing, who
raised him.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons
Funeral Home in Niles, where the Niles McKinley Lodge 794 F. & A.M. of
Ohio will conduct prayers at 6:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mount
Carmel Church, with the Rev. John Trimbur officiating, preceded by a 10 a.m.
prayer service at the funeral home. Andy will be honored for his military
service by the Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard following the
services. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.

HOWLAND - Homer P. McCarty, 88, passed away peacefully at 5:10 p.m. Friday,
Jan. 21, 2011, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
He was born Jan. 27, 1927, in Cleveland, the son of Homer P. and Helen
Seaman McCarty Sr. He attended school in Cuyahoga Falls and Cleveland Heights
before moving to the Panama Canal Zone with his family. He graduated from
Christobal High School in Panama, where he played football and water polo,
was president of the National Thespians and treasurer of the senior class.
After graduation from high school he was employed by the U.S. Navy.
Homer served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He
received a bachelor's degree in business from Kent State University and went
to work for Wean Industries as a field engineer and retired as supervisor. He
traveled the world for Wean, often accompanied by his wife. They made many
friends during their travels.
Homer was a member of Howland Community Church where he served as a
deacon; the American Legion post in Mentor; Silver Trowel Masonic Lodge No.
776; and the Abou Saad Shrine of Panama. He also belonged to the Cleveland
Skating Club and the U.S. Power squadron. Mac enjoyed boating, golfing and
keeping in touch with his fellow Wean retirees. He also volunteered at the
Children's Rehabilitation Center.
His beloved wife, Elizabeth H. "Libby" Hix McCarty, whom he
married Nov. 21, 1964, preceded him in death on May 25, 2006.
He is survived by his stepdaughter, Sandra; his grandson, Jason; and many
friends.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Roberts-Clark Chapel, where
friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Dr Brian
Byrne will officiate. Silver Trowel Masonic Lodge will conduct a memorial
service at 9:45 a.m., and military honors will be observed following the
service at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery
Mausoleum.

Home..home on the Range and back in
the saddle again. Heart (no pun intended) felt thank you for the calls, cares
and prayers sent to me from my fraternal Brothers.
Don't know
exactly what happened but not the heart. Now all I need for best medicine is
to get my four grandaughters and head to the Inn and a swimming pool. Oh yea and
Lane can come too!!!LOL ... see ya all sooner I hope but later for sure along
our fraternal trail.

Robert
L. Davidson, 79 years of age, became Our Gift to God on Sunday January 2, 2011
at his residence in Shalersville Township with his loving family at his side.
Bob was God’s Gift to Us on February 8, 1931 in Jefferson, Pennsylvania, the
son of the late Lloyd H. and Zella (Grimm) Davidson. An area resident since
1961, he retired from the Ford Motor Company Walton Hills Division as an
oiler after 36˝ years of faithful service. Bob was well known for his
dedication to numerous Masonic affiliations that included being Past
Master of Mantua Lodge No. 533 F. & A.M., Past High Priest of Silver
Creek Chapter No.144 of Garrettsville, Past Illustrious Master of Warren
Council No.58 of Warren, Past Commander of Allenby Commandery No. 73 of
Twinsburg, Member of Knights of the York Cross of Honour-Ohio Priory No. 18
and Past Patron of Crescent Chapter No. 7 O.E.S. of Garrettsville.
Bob was an active member also of the Aurora United Methodist Church. On
June 30, 1951, he married Ada J. (Albaugh) Davidson who survives him at home.
Also surviving are his daughters Deborah Williams of Streetsboro, Robin
(Terry) Lester and Tammy (Kenny) Meek both of Kent; his brother Raymond
(Audrey) Davidson of Ambridge, Pennsylvania; his sister Lucille Policz
of Jefferson, Pennsylvania and grandchildren Brian Strayer, Scott Williams,
Lisa (Jozsef) Jakab and Nicole (Michael) Stephan. He was preceded in death by
one sister. Calling hours will be Wednesday (TODAY) from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M.
at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where
Masonic services will begin at 5:45 P.M. Funeral services will be Thursday
January 6, 2011 12:00 Noon at the Aurora United Methodist Church, 241 Aurora
Rd., with visitation also from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Pastor Jared
Priset will officiate. Cremation will follow.
